New ONLINE REPORT OF OCCURRENCE FORM
The Member Services Department of USA Swimming is pleased to announce the completion of the new To access form from usaswimming.org web site, click on “Member Resources/Programs & Services/Insurance & Risk Management".
We strongly encourage everyone to begin using the online Report of Occurrence form now. If for some reason, someone has a problem accessing the form online, we have a downloadable form posted on the same insurance & risk management page under “Misc Insurance Documents and Forms".

Safety: Update on the American Red Cross of Metro New York
The American Red Cross has changed a number of policies/practices regarding courses accepted by USA Swimming for coaches safety education requirements.
Additional course materials are now available to download, see the links below. Local chapters will still offer printed copies of these materials for purchase.
In the next month Red Cross instructors will be switching to a computerized system which will allow instructors to print 8.5x11 certificates. Local chapters will still offer wallet-sized certificates. The expiration dates for some courses have also changed, check with your instructor to make sure you know when you will need to recertify.
Fees charged by the Red Cross of Metro New York for certificates have changed. The Red Cross is now charging $10 for Safety Training for Swim Coaches, $37 for Lifeguard Training, $22 for CPR/AED for Lifeguards, $27 for CPR/AED for Healthcare Providers, $19 for individual First Aid or Community CPR components, $27 for First Aid with Community CPR components. Additionally Instructor Certificates are now $37.
Be advised that these changes may affect the cost to students. Did you know that a Red Cross Water Safety Instructor can teach Safety Training for Swim Coaches after completing a self-orientation? So the next time coaches have trouble finding a course check with local Learn-to-Swim instructors.
