The Boys and Girl Club of Northern Westchester (BGCNW-MR) Marlins is a year-round USA Swimming competitive swim team offering professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities with an affiliation with the Boys and Girls Club of America. We are seeking a Head Coach and Competitive Program Director (“Head Coach”) to oversee all aspects of our competitive swim program, with direct coaching responsibilities. The overall objective of the position is to continue to guide and grow a USA swimming program that produces the highest attainable levels of competitive excellence in individual and team performance, while fostering a positive environment that fulfills BGCNW goals and vision. It is expected that the head coach will foster positive relationships, mentor as appropriate, and communicate well with their coaching staff, swim team members, swim team parents, the non-competitive Program Director, Boys and Girls Club Staff and the Board of Directors. The Head Coach must develop the skills and talents of the team members and coaching staff while promoting teamwork, sportsmanship and encouraging personal development and excellence in line with the mission statement of the Boys and Girls Club.
The Head Coach will be expected to work in partnership with BGCNW Staff, BGCNW Board Members and Metro Swimming to further develop the team’s position as a leading program in the Metro LSC.
The Head Coach will provide guidance and assistance to high school team members and families to find the ideal academic and athletic match for swimmers who wish to continue swimming competitively at the college/university level.

Condors Swim Club (COND-MR) is seeking a part-time Assistant Coach, for the Mark Twain location in Yonkers, NY. Qualified applicants will work directly with Head Coach to maintain a competitive and supportive environment for young athletes. Applicant must have competitive coaching experience and be willing to work weeknights and meets on occasional weekends. Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of stroke technique and mechanics, appropriate developmental processes, and endurance training. The job will entail leading and assisting groups, collaborating with head coach, writing workouts, attending USA swimming meets, and communicating effectively with parents. The Condors Swim Club also has a continuing Coaches Education program that includes such things as stipends to attend coaching clinics. Somerset Valley YMCA’s swim team, 2017 LC YMCA National Champions and 2018 SC NJYMCA State Champions, is currently seeking a dedicated swim coach for our Senior 1 practice group of 15-18 year old athletes. The Senior 1 practice group has qualified multiple athletes for YMCA National Championships in each of the past six seasons. Northport Yacht Club Swim Team
The Head Coach is responsible for supervising, instructing, motivating and coaching approximately 100 swimmers ages 4-17. S/he develops workouts, directs practice, and manages swimmer placement for all meets while encouraging proper sportsmanship and good teammate behavior at all times. S/he is a motivator who knows how to get kids excited about the sport of swimming, and has strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with swimmers of all ages and their parents.
The coach will become familiar with the rules, regulations (as found in the Swim Team Handbook and the Tri-Club agreement between Northport Yacht Club, Centerport Yacht Club and Huntington Bay Club) and rich traditions of the Northport Yacht Club Swim Team and actively participate in ensuring these are followed and promoted. The coach will leverage time trials on a regular basis to inform meet lineups, to measure swimmer progress and promote healthy competition on the team
Requirements: Minimum age of 21 - Experience coaching both competitive and recreational swimmers in similar program - Proficient in all swim skills and able to teach all stroke techniques - Able to lift and move equipment, and to lift an average size child - Valid American Red Cross Lifeguard or Water Safety certification with up to date CPR/AED/First Aid
Salary: $25-30/hr; commensurate with experience
Hours: Seasonal position June 19-Aug 4 that averages approx 35 hours per week including practice, meets, events, planning time and administrative planning for meets (i.e. lineups)
June 11 - June 22 Pre-Season Practices 4:00-6:00 PM (M-F)

The Roosevelt Island Marlins Swim Team (RIST-MR) is one of the most successful swimming programs in the Manhattan/Queens area. RI Marlins is actively seeking for a highly motivated coach who will be responsible for work with a Junior group. The coach should be able to communicate with athletes ages 9 - 13. The basic responsibilities are: draft practices, explain drills, work with a stop watch. The Head Coach, a member of USA swimming, will be happy to share his expertise and knowledge in creating practices and mentoring young athletes. Practice times: Mon, Wed, Fri 4 - 5.45 pm, Tue 4 - 6.30, Saturday 8 - 10.30 am. The club can provide an additional opportunity with Learn To Swim Program to expand hours of work up to 20 per week.
