Connetquot Swim Club (CSC-MR), based of out Connetquot High School in Bohemia, NY, is seeking an assistant coach for the upcoming competitive swimming season. Although involved with the entire team, candidates will be primarily coaching swimmers 13 years and younger to develop stroke technique, build endurance, and create a supportive and positive environment for our athletes to develop and excel. Candidates must also be able to write daily work outs for his/her group, work weeknights, attend occasional weekend swim meets, communicate effectively with colleagues and parents, and have (or obtain) a valid USA Swimming coaching certification. YFD Swimming is looking for an individual who is a team player with swim coaching experience. The candidate must possess ASCA level 1 or higher preferred. 3+ years of USA coaching experience preferred, and pass all required background checks. The individual’s experience should illustrate exceptional management, communication and motivational skills, team-building and community involvement. The candidate should be able to provide relevant examples of teaching quality technique as well as have a record of producing well-rounded swimmers.

We are seeking an Assistant to the Head Coach who will take on more leadership roles as they show their talents. Swim practice is Monday-Thursday 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM and Saturday 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM. Qualifications: 1-2 years experience as a Head Coach or Assistant Coach of a USA Swimming affiliated club. All certifications current and in good standing with USA Swimming prior to starting. Solid knowledge of stroke mechanics. Bachelor’s Degree and personal competitive swimming on an age group and/or college level preferred. JCC Manhattan Thunderbirds Swim Team (JTTC-MR) is looking to hire a part-time Head Swim Team Coach. The Head Coach would lead, design, and foster systematic growth for our swim team while in line with the Thunderbirds Mission Statement / Vision/Values (see website). We are seeking to upgrade our swim team to a USA Swimming team. We are looking for a Head Coach that could lead us as we embark on this path.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Serve as primary, on-deck coach of all level training groups. Increase the number of athletes who swim into their high school and collegiate years and increase the number of athletes who qualify for championship opportunities.

Supervise and develop assistant coaching staff including: coordinate stroke and training principles throughout all levels; oversee group placement and advancement of athletes; and serve as on-deck coach of lower level training groups as needed;

Oversee all administrative aspects of team activities, including: meet selection, planning and registration; coordination of home/hosted meets; practice scheduling for all training groups; maintaining team statistics; and team promotion locally and within Metro Swimming LSC; writes club newsletter and articles for website, social media, and print. involved in team functions including the organization of volunteers, team photos, socials, board meetings and season ending banquets. maintains records, rosters, spreadsheets, coach’s certifications, and record board and meet participation. responds to all parent and swimmer inquiries and complaints in timely manner.

Work cooperatively with the Aquatics Director to: develop and administer the team budget; create and execute a shared vision for the Thunderbird's growth and success; and communicate professionally and regularly with coaches, athletes, and parents. Establish a local presence and reputation within Metro, the Eastern Region, and USA Swimming via clinics, volunteering, etc. Develop and maintain positive relationships with Thunderbirds parents, including parent education/activities with volunteer parents. Must be able to show unwavering support and belief in the program structure as a whole, the philosophies of the Thunderbirds, and be willing to assist in all areas whenever appropriate.

Qualifications: 3+ years experience as a Head Coach or Assistant Coach of a USA Swimming affiliated club; ASCA Level 2 certification or above strongly preferred; Experience leading and mentoring assistant coaching staff; All certifications current and in good standing with USA Swimming or required prior to starting; Solid knowledge of stroke theory and training physiology; Proven success coaching, motivating, and inspiring swimmers at all levels, from developmental through national level; Proven capability to develop talent at all levels. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

JCC Manhattan Thunderbirds Swim Team (JTTC-MR) is seeking a part-time Assistant Swim Coach. GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK: Under general supervision of the Head Swim Coach, help plan and organize a competitive swim program for the JCC Thunderbirds Swim Team. Assist in organizing meets and oversee daily practices as directed. Analyze performance and instruct swimmers in proper technique and training strategies.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Help plan, develop and implement programs to attract swimmers into the program from the surrounding community. Help with a training program including a “dry-land” strength-training program that will compliment water training and help swimmers reach their maximum potential. Coach students individually or in groups, demonstrating proper swimming technique and observing students to detect and correct mistakes. Performs the duties of the Head Swim Coach in his/her absence. Confer with participants and parents to report swimmers’ progress, explain rules and regulations and any other important swim team information. Help maintain team records and prepare monthly reports regarding practice attendance, etc. Help organize and set-up all meets Keep up-to-date on latest swim techniques and training methods.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Have the ability to develop the physiological, psychological and developmental needs of participants. Knowledge of current aquatic coaching techniques, training and teaching methods. Working knowledge of Hy-tek Team Manager and Meet Manager software to submit entries and run meets. Skill in communicating in writing and/or in person on a one-on-one basis and before groups for the purpose of influencing, motivating and convincing. Ability to work independently and to plan and organize programs. Ability to analyze the needs of students with varying levels of physical and mental ability. Ability to administer first aid and other life saving precautions according to prescribed procedures.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: At least one year experience coaching competitive swimming or any combination of education, training, and experience providing the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform essential job functions.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Work takes place in and around pool facility. Traveling needed to attend swim meets, and, when necessary, meetings, clinics and conferences.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: First Aid, CPR, Safety Training for Swim Coaches, and Background Check.

Condors Swim Club (COND-MR) is seeking a part-time Assistant Coach, for the Mark Twain location in Yonkers, NY. Qualified applicants will work directly with Head Coach to maintain a competitive and supportive environment for young athletes. Applicant must have competitive coaching experience and be willing to work weeknights and meets on occasional weekends. Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of stroke technique and mechanics, appropriate developmental processes, and endurance training. The job will entail leading and assisting groups, collaborating with head coach, writing workouts, attending USA swimming meets, and communicating effectively with parents. The Condors Swim Club also has a continuing Coaches Education program that includes such things as stipends to attend coaching clinics.
