2006 Hall Of Fame Dinner - Pictures
The annual Metropolitan Swimming Hall of Fame dinner took place Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at Riccardo's Restaurant, in Astoria, Queens. About 100 guests attended the 2006 Induction Ceremony.
 
The Chair of the Hall of Fame Committee, Len Galluzzi (2001), was the Master of Ceremonies.
Mary Fleckenstein, Chair of Metropolitan Swimming, welcomed everyone and introduced the 2006 Metropolitan Champions:
Women's Team Champion - Long Island Aquatic Club
Men's Team Champion - New York Athletic Club
Combined Team Champion - Long Island Aquatic Club
Women's Individual - Alex Forrester, badger Swim Club
Men's Individual - Jason McLaughlin, White Plains YWCA Middies
 
Holger Fietkau (and Krysztof Sawicz), Co-Chairs Officials Committee, Presented the winners of the Joe Stetz Memorial Scholarship Awards:
Tiffany Bui (YMID) will attend Harvard University
Natalia Festa (LIAC) will attend Harvard University
Robert Frawley III (OWA) will attend Columbia University
Gregory Pfeifer (FLY) will attend Marist College
 
Bea Hartigan, Administrative Vice Chair, presented the ConocoPhillips Outstanding Service Award to James "Jim" Roberts. The award was accepted by Jim's widow, Elizabeth Roberts.
 
Mary Fleckenstein presented a Special National Age Group Records Award to Lia Neal, Asphalt Green Unified Aquatics, who attended the dinner with her parents and her coach Casey Brandt.
 
Inducted in the 2006 Hall of Fame were:
  • Charles "Chuck" Felice - Swimmer - Bernal's Gator Swim Club/Fordham University - presented by Joe Bernal (2000), Coach of Bernal's Gator Swim Club
  • Jessica Foschi - Swimmer - Long Island Aquatic Club - presented by Dave Ferris, Coach of Long Island Aquatic Club
